[7.851][BUG][OPEN] external interface picking up IP address from modem

Hi,
for the last couple of days I have noticed that my bridged ADSL2+ modem is broadcasting and the ASG is picking up the packets.

I would love to be able to access the modem via the external interface, but can't see how to get an additional address into a PPPoE interface.

Why is this happening?

    Hi utm_kid,
    I think you have posted that in the wrong thread?

    Looks like a http issue to me not an external interface issue.

    I ran tcpdump, but couldn't see anything obvious.

    I did capture this series of entries from the packet filer log though

    Sorry ,i forget to mention that 192.168.1.1 is my external (wan )interface gateway

    Hi,
    I don't think I could do this under v7.5xx and it shouldn't work under v8b either.
    I was able to assign an additional address to eth0 which is my PPPoE interface.

    I haven't tried setting up a NAT connection to it.

    I deleted the address and went back to try and re-create it, but I can no longer add an additional address.
