I did a complex testing about that but was unable to reproduce it. I had Excel/Word/Outlook 2003 in use.

test1)

I opened a existing word and excel document. Datei > senden an > E-Mail Empfänger:

inline, no conversion:

I received the E-Mail in a readable format. The document was in the body of the E-Mail and the footer was at the end of the document

inline, unicode conversion

I received the E-Mail in a readable format. The document was in the body of the E-Mail and the footer was at the end of the document

MIME part

I received the E-Mail in a readable format. The document was in the body of the E-Mail and the footer was attached as .txt file.

I tested all ways of word to send the document as E-Mail and the problem was not reproducable. In that point of view it is no Astaro Bug. Have you maybe any other software in use which affect the mail format?

Andreas, how would anything that looks at the email before it hits the Astaro "automagically" know what the footer setting was on the Astaro and insert it before it went out?  I'd suggest remoting into the system this user is using and seeing what is happening firsthand.

I'll do tomorrow another testing.

Fact is that there is NO other software in use, currently I've switched to "MIME part" to avoid any issues. I'll let you know... (Probably a reboot will help - do this at night)

Hmmm....as soon I swich back to "inline, unicode conversion" the nasty phenomenon is back.

The footer is added to the file (uploaded the result).

What I've done:
Started Excel, just entered "Test", Datei => Senden an => E-Mail-Empfänger (Anlage) and sent it to my external account.

If the E-Mail is created over word, a single part E-Mail will be build. The Astaro will write the footer into the attachement and as result the file is corrupt:

if you sent the file over Desktop > right cursor > "senden an E-Mail Empfänger" a multi part E-Mail will be created. The attachment is readable and footer will only be added to the text part of the E-Mail.
