7.500 Released

Hello there Beta Testers.

We are today, (Sept 17th) going to release the 7.500 GA version as a soft-release. This means it will not be pushed out via our content distribution network to all installations, but as we have been doing, we'll release it as a manual download first. Today there will be 2 Up2Date pacakages only; 1 for 7.405->7.500, and one for 7.490->7.500. 

ISO images will follow next week, then on Oct 1st, we will push 7.500 via the Up2Date network. There will shortly be an Up2Date blog posting about the 7.500 release with links, information, my release notes etc...

Now for the important stuff [:D]
We will be analyzing the feedback from the Beta and will then award our Amazon Gift cards to the winners for the most valued participation. Also, active beta testers will receive a special home use key with more allowances than a normal home use key. This and a few other surprises we have planned for tomorrow. If for some reason we're not able to fully complete / wind-down the beta process, we'll wrap it up next week, so give me a bit of leeway if I can't get all the keys and such finalized before the weekend.

Thanks very much for your feedback. We'll probably keep this Beta forum open only for a while longer, and will close/archive it as usual once everything is final. For now, watch this thread for update posts.

    I only had one confirmed bug... hope that and my other work is enough to qualify for a 50 IP license!

    Ok, so it's the 30th, and no sign of any licenses. Got a new license using a different email hoping for the 30 day trial, but no luck. I've got close to 30 IPs and ASG is starting to cut them off! Help!

    If new licenses was send out, we might have missed them, cuz my Astaro 110/120 box simply accepted all email, and send it right to NIL [:@]

    Astaro.....The least you could do when a license expire, is to let mails pass, and maybe tag them......

    Eating them is IMHO not an option worthy of you

    I do not think they have sent anything out yet. So far I definitely haven't seen anything and I imagine someone on the board would mention receiving them. 
    Either way, they're a free gift. So, if Astaro wants to take their time it is kind of hard to get upset about it.

    I have been involved with Astaro for almost 2 years now and every beta I see people whining about the free licenses and how they need them. To tell you the truth if you start in on the beta just for the licenses than you don't belong doing beta testing. There is plenty of companies out there who offer beta testing and don't give anything at all. Personally I do it to try and see it become the best product on the market. I also like to see that others will get a solid product. If there is additional perks due to that it is just one more thing the company does to reward efforts.

    At least this verifies why no emails are passing.  This makes it bad for me.  I was just about to post to see if the expired license prevented mail delivery.  I forgot my login to get the Astaro home license and this explains why I did not receive the email when I requested a new password.  My account that I used is on a mail server behind the Astaro.  Its just a home lab so I will just put ISA back on line until the licenses come thru.  I almost did it last night, but I did not realize it would block email.  I will miss the Astaro but, I guess I know what I will be doing when I get home from my day job.

    But still finds it bad, that they are accepting mails, and then gives them a poison pill
