while on my ASL the command "modprobe xennet" reports:
modprobe xennet
FATAL: Module xennet not found.


I have been using ASL on Xenserver 5.0u3 since ASL version 7.304 by now, and it runs fine, except it is slow due to fully virtualized network interfaces and the clock doesn't sync due to fully virtualized clock, which is always a problem.

So, YES, it does work, but after all the time it has been working (as it should anyway in a fully virtualized environment) and the long time we have been asking for real paravirtualized xen support, considering it's still not here, I don't find that piece of release news particularly funny.

    We added this news not to be funny per-se, but we were getting a lot of inquiries about IF astaro worked AT ALL in Xencenter. Which it does. It might not be as ideal as if we had true xennet installed, but aside from non-full speed networking and a virtual clock, it is more than sufficient for testing, demo'ing, or other higher-level uses. We are currently working with Xen in order to offer "official" support (ie, you can make support tickets) for this platform, until then, rest assured we are aware that people are interested in virtualizing with Xen as a supported platform.

    I would really like to see xen support as well. But I would like to see it as para virtualized since the code base is on SLES it would be simple I would think. I run a Sles xen environment and would really like to run it in a para virtual environment. It would work very well I think based on all the testing I have done with it under sles. Can this be considered?
