[7.405][BUG][NOTABUG] Timeouts while Updating via Webadmin

Hello,

I was unsure where to post this, hope this is right:

when uploading a large manual-update-file (like the one from 7.405-7.480), the standard popup is displayed asking me to wait another 30 seconds or abort the action.

No matter what I click - even if don't click anything - after a while inside the "upload-window" the header-graphic of the webadmin logon-site shows up - just like there was an iframe that loaded the authentication-page inside the little progress-box.

That happened already with one of the last update-packages - in FF you even could see the "Username" and "Password" - Login-Fields on the website that has been shown inside the upload-box when you used TAB to navigate through the site.

Thought that has already been fixed - seems not to be.

Thomas, is this on a machine with 512MB or less? You can search here for a work-around from the command line.

thanks for your answer!
This is a VM that has 768 MB RAM assigned to it, running in a VMware Server on Win2008.
Thanks for the hint how i can find infos about this. I will use that way next times. Nevertheless I should have enough RAM to be able to run the updates smoothly - but I'm not.
If that happened in a production environment that would be quite annoying.

So, perhaps someone will have a look at that.

The reason Bob asked you about the memory usage is because with the release of 7.4, astaro changed the hardware requirements to 1GB ram. Although you can run it with lesser hardware, you won't get optimal performance and will run into problems like the one you are having. Hope that helps.

Ah - OK, now things come clear to me: I didn't know that these were the new *requirements* - thought it is just a *possibility* to upgrade the RAM in the appliances. We did it in the company, but I seem to have missed that the requirements went up that bit.

I'll test it with more RAM :-)
