[7.470][QUESTION][ANSWERED] IE7 + find = script error

Hi all,

there is a problem with the find function on Network Security -> Packet Filter when searching on many rules defined (265 in my case).
Pratically when I'm searching with IE, after few seconds I get this popup message:

A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"

I tried the same search with Firefox 3.5 and after few seconds I got the results!
So the problem is only with IE (I didn't try other browsers).

The hardware is an ASG220 with 512MB RAM with only firewall functionality active.

    This is microsoft problem, if you really want to get rid of this mesg then this article might be worth reading? How to set time-out period for script. Otherwise, Astaro can adjust the scropt and set "setTimeout ..."?

    Personally, don't think this is a bug but definitely user experience issue.

    I already tried the to set up the timeout period for script to 8.000.000 but the result is only a delay to the final error message.

    With Firefox, without any customization, I get the search result in 6 seconds.
    With IE (+ script time-out customization) I get the error message after 55 seconds.

    So there is a compatibility problem with IE and the find feature when applied to many rules.

    If you want to call it "user esxperience issue" for me is the same but the problem exists and I can't use IE to perfom search tasks on my rules.
