[7.470][BUG][NOTABUG] Duplicate Network Definition

Webadmin doesn't inform you if network definition already exists with the same name. Tested on vista sp2 IE8.0.6001

Screenshot: Create a network definition 111 as shown. Now try to create another definition 111 and you will not get an error.

Edit 1: Two errors

1. No popup that definition already exists for the same content/name.
2. If you create the definition with different content (like changing the interface/address etc), still no error and the contents are not changed as long as the name is the same as original.

    correct but that's not a bug. the name is only used for display reasons - we don't use the name as an identifier. only the REF_ needs to be unique.

    Not a bug[:S] You are kidding right. I can write code all day and just because I say I write perfect code doesn't make it so. 

    I create definitions called test all the time for testing and delete them later. If I come back and forget that I have a definition named test and recreate another definition named test, I don't get any error messages, plus the changes I just saved just disappear and its not a bug?

    Come on guys, I can understand if you hit clone and ok without changing anything, nothing happens is not a bug; although logically, it should create a duplicate with a different name definition copy or something. But if you create a new definition with same name and change content without realizing that a definition exists in 100s of other definitions and you don't get a warning from webadmin, that is a bug.

    Spoken like a true programmer. Although as end users we don't really care about your identifier. All we care about is the name.

    I am not going to persue it any further than this. Its your software and your call[H]
