[7.460][BUG][CONFIRMED] Ulogd restarted after each reboot on a VM instance

Hi

Seems I've Ulogd not running - restarted after each reboot on one of my test box...

I've installed it yesterday morning and since each reboot I get a mail with:


Ulogd not running - restarted

this is a Virtualbox VM with 1G ram... and on this VM I've linked PPPOE connection that I do not active everytime so I've some more ulogd not running message in the SMTP Spool UI...

anyone ?

Thanks for the report.   From looking at the core files I suspect a problem during setup of signal handling at start of ulogd.   To confirm I'd suggest you to install

http://people.astaro.com/heitzenberger/v7/rpm/ulogd-2.0.1-18.1.i686.rpm

which contains a small change to the signal initialization and also contains some debugging in case it isn't fixed by the it.   You also have to raise the debugging level in ulogd.conf (loglevel=1), a sample ulogd.conf is here:

You should install this RPM by doing

rpm --force -U ulogd-*.rpm
/etc/init.d/ulogd restart

Please test this version.  If it isn't fixed by this new version please send /var/log/system.log.  Thanks.
