[7.460][BUG][CONFIRMED] Flow monitor

The traffic in flow monitor for all IPs is shown from the firewall perspective. In other words the "Bytes In" for an IP are the bytes coming in to astaro and "Bytes out" are the bytes going out of astaro. It doesn't matter if you click on incoming or outgoing connection graph in webadmin.

Maybe its by design, but I think it will be more intuitive if the traffic in front of an IP shows what is coming in to that IP and what that IP is sending out. In the screenshot attached, I am downloading windows7 from microsoft. The traffic graphs show 1.3M coming in from wan and 1.3M going to LAN. If you look at the clients using the bandwidth, 192.168.0.10 seems to be sending out more packets/bytes on https connection than its receiving which is not the case obviously.

    no problem just for bette understanding. Regarding to your Screenshot. You mean that Bytes in and Bytes out should be changed or PKT in and PKT out?

    How many years have I been doing Astaro and I still have to figure this out every time I look at a graph?  The developers know what it means, so they haven't understood how confusing it can be for others.

    Thanks to Billybob for finally explaining it clearly.  Now, if Astaro would just update KB article 119950 and provide a link to it on the executive report and add the information to the Admin guide...

    Let me try to explain again, when i see a graph like this...

    IP 4.2.2.1     Bytes IN 2048        Bytes Out 1024

    It looks to me that 4.2.2.1 is downloading 2048 bytes and sending out 1024 bytes. 

    The way flow monitor is setup currently, this is not the way it shows traffic. In flow monitor the exact same graph means that IP 4.2.2.1 is actually downloading 1024 and uploading 2048 which seems backwards to me.
