I started a thread a couple weeks ago saying the checksum was slow. I confess, I am using very old hardware.
So I purchased a $300 Dell Vostro 220. Intel Pentuim Dual-Core E5200 (2.5 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800 FSB), 1GB RAM 250GB HD.
I went to install 7.5 beta from the CD I used on the old machine. After hitting F8 (Have you read everything correctly) and choosing English (USA), I get a message "Installation Failed Please remove CD-ROM and restart system".
I have also tried the nosmp and classic options to try to get past this with no success.
Any ideas?
