[7.450][QUESTION][ANSWERED] Failed to get scanner instance?

Hi Friends !


I shutdown my ASG at night (which normally i do )
this morning same way i am planning to start ,but asg says.......NO... i restart desktop..asg machine also still...he says no ....gives error 

"Failed to get scanner instance"

i restart desktop and asg machine couple of time 
but on asg machine i am able to ping,traceroute

    Most of the firewalls are designed for running 24/7. Seems like you might have forced a shutdown while it was updating something. Was it a clean shutdown from webadmin or console? Does it work if you turn off av scanner in http proxy since I am assuming that is the service you are referring to?

    Yes sir ,it work when i turn off av and again tryed turn on again same error message ,now how do i fix it ?

    i tryed to run tcpdump while trying to browse (when i was not able to browse -av is on ) 

    6000 packets captured
    19023 packets received by filter
    12901 packets dropped by kernel

    Long time ago I was trying to update to 7.3?? and my installation was crashing. I had to manually update it. Someone on this board posted how to force an update and I just saved it as a reference in my astaro tweaks files[:P] So all the credit goes to the original poster. 

     I am assuming that your up2date files got downloaded and installation was corrupt.Try running this command on console/ssh as root. No promises but it might do the trick[:D]


    auisys.plx --rpmargs --force
