[7.450][BUG][NOTABUG] DynDNS stopped working

Hi everybody,

my ASG has stopped updating my DynDNS account:

DynDNS status is: The last update was successful.
DynDNS modified: Mon Jun 8 04:00:20 2009

It should had updated the account on both Tuesday and Wednesday (today), 4 am.

Is there some DynDNS log? I now disabled and reenabled the account, it has been updated after that.

dyndns/ddclient uses syslog, you should be able to find something in /var/log/system.log.

However, you might need to look at archive folder /var/log/system/ if you looking for older entries.

OK, I found the following entry:

2009:06:08-04:00:09 astaro1 ddclient[3608]: WARNING: caught SIGTERM; exiting

Apparently, no automatic restart had been conducted thereafter.

seems that we are using version 3.7.3 which coincidentally has lots of hits on this issue on google.

time to update? :-)

I have set automatic reconnection for my PPPoE line to 4 am, so this is the time when DynDNS should do an update [;)]
