[7.450][BUG][NOTABUG] pppoe connection/NIC

I just installed 7.450 on the same machine I normally run 7.403 on.
After I imported my old config and logged in for the first time I was impressed by the speed, the GUI loaded.
But after I set my settings for the Network usage bar, I recognized that my pppoe connection showed Down. I tried to connect to the Internet, but it was not possible.   

My Interface card used for PPPOE is a RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+.

Is this problem caused by the NIC?

    This may be a NIC specific issue. I followed your steps tried to duplicate
    your issue. The new link mode was set and the PPPOE connection stayed up and
    also reconnect is possible. Hardware ASG425 with Intel Gigabit NIC 82571EB.

    Eventually setting the link mode brings your interface down.
    Can you please check with following commands? Replace $DEV with your rela eth itf.

    $ ethtool $DEV
    $ ip l l $DEV
