[7.450][INFO] Beta seems to be very unstable and total failure

Well, it's not that bad, really.

It is really that bad. The reason for re-install of 7.403 was because the internet doesn't stay up long enough to even establish a connection.

Webcasts stop and rebuffer every couple of minutes. Then drop the connection. The internet connection wasn't showing any restarted connections because the PPPoE stats weren't updating.

Some of the stats and graphs updated others had nothing, even after a couple of restarts and several hours later. I had to go out for about 5 hrs and the ASG couldn't maintain a connection for more than about 30secs before it would go through series of failures then a short connection with a reject message.

In summary it didn't work.

I couldn't even get  an internet connection to review the forum for details.

Having reviewed your thread I have the same problem but worse because of all the other bits that failed.

Ian, I haven't seen anyone else with as many issues, so I wonder if you haven't discovered a newly-created incompatibility with your hardware.

The only other thought would be to run the checksum on the downloaded ISO.

Running fine here (stable, anyhow) on a DSL PPPOE account...

downloaded a new version this morning. Will shortly start a new installation on a different disk so if anything goes wrong I can just the old disk back in the system.

Hi Folks,
a new download, different hard drive all went together very quickly and the imported configuration is working well. All the missing functions appear to be in place and working.
This time at this stage no dropouts except when I implemented monitoring on the PC vlan port.

I think I have identified a bug when using VLANs, but don't want to explore it just yet. I would like this build to settle down.

I now have an ASG spread over the floor.[:)]

Glad it worked out for you. We always work with "when" to release a Beta version, in that yes, betas will have bugs and other issues, some we already know about, however the idea is to get it into anyone that wishes to test as early as possible, knowing that things may explode at any time [:)]

Hi Bob,
not quite saving  money, my linux workstation is now short a harddrive. I swiped the drive so that if the latest installation  failed I could put 7.403 back in a couple of minutes. Keeps the natives happy.

Still investigating a second ADSL service.

I also had an issue with the ppoe part one time. no connection is coming up or connection will be loss after a few minutes.

I searched verry long for a solution but nothing really worked and I have nothing changed on the astaro. 

the solution was the mtu size! i called my provider discussed my problem with a technician and he told me to try. on the wan interface was an mtu of 1500 and I set it to 1492 and after that everything fine... may you can try this I no longer have ppoe or dsl.
