[7.390] Filter gets reset when deleting a def

Hi Barry, 

what should happen with the packet filter rule if you delete the definition objects that is used in that rule?

It would be nice if the filter in use stayed in effect; as it does when you edit a definition.

Today I was trying to delete a bunch of temporary defs that all matched a search 'temp'. I had to keep re-entering the search term to get them listed again as I deleted them.

Hi Barry, 

but if you delete the definition that gets used by the filter rule, this filter rule is no longer valid and can not be used, as parts of the configuration is missing. 

this is the reason why we delete the filter rule as well. 
i think in 7.500 we will add more descriptive warning messages and confirmation screens to prevent the accidential deletion of such objects.

Gert, there are two discussions in this thread.

Barry's first comment had to do with what happens when a definition is deleted.  When you put "temp" into the 'Find' box, you are presented with all of the Definitions with "temp" used somewhere.  If you delete one of the definitions, you are kicked back to the top of the complete list of all Definitions.  What should happen is that the remaining items filtered on "temp" should be what you see.  This is a problem in 7.306 also.

In 7.500 we improve the filter behavior so that the result set and the filter will be preserved through edit/delete operations.
