Hello everyone!
One important feature that I've been missing for a while is hardware-monitoring.
Astaro can send you emails about pretty much anything and thats great.
However if the cpu-fan is failing and your system is bound to overheat, there won't be any notice before it's to late.
We have configured all our Linux-servers to monitor fan speeds (system, cpu, psu), temperatures, voltage etc. and send emails if something fails. This can be done with lmsensors for example which is pretty straight forward and set up in minutes.
Most of you will agree that it is not hacking or anything security-related that's causing most of the downtime but hardware failure. Something simple like a 2 dollar fan can cause your whole system to overheat and take irreparable damage.
I started a thread about this topic some time ago and at that point it did not seem possible to get email notifications about heat-excess or failing fans.
If it should be possible by now and I just don't know it, please let me know and I will delete this post.
Thanks in advance!
