[FEATURE] [7.360] VMWare tools for VMware Server 2

Hi all,

I know this is not really an issue but I hope sooner or later the vmware tools will be updated to a newer release which are supported by VMWare Server 2.

vmware tools are for OSes with desktop environments, not for cmd line only environments like Astaro. Astaro's GUI is web based, so vmware tools would be useless on Astaro.

Sorry, but this is completly wrong.

VMware tools are also used for text-only OSes. The tools can accelerate overall system (better memory management) and network (vmxnet driver) performance. Also they include some management functions for shutting down / suspend the VM correctly including the running OS.
