Availability Group for SMTP Profiles not working?

Hi,

I´am glad to hear that it is now possible to define a group of available server. But why isn´t it possible to assign a availability group to a SMTP-Profile as static host list? [:S]

    Hm. Where would the client get its mail from, then?

    You can already in the SMTP servers list put in more than one server as the route target, and accomplish the same thing as they will be processed in order. But agree, the support of an availability group would indeed clean this up, and make sense. As long as the client was aware of such alternates of course.

    The client isn´t the problem in that way because the mails will be send in each case in the final step to one mail server. The Astaro should only route the mails via another server in case of a failed delivery on the way to this server.

    Here a small example for the normal way of mails:

    Intenet --> Astaro --> Server X --> Mail Server

    If the Server X between Astaro an the Mail Server is down the Astaro should route the Mails in this way:

    Internet --> Astaro --> Mail Server


    But for now it isn´t possible to tell the Astaro that she should take always the first way in case that the Server X is online. Now the Astaro sends the mails sometimes directly to the Mail Server and sometimes via the Server X.

    Thats why we need the Availability Groups also for SMTP-Routing, especially SMTP-Profiles!
