[7.350] dnsresolver.plx License Expired

Not sure how vital this is, I saw it in most of the 7.3xx tree and am still seeing it on 7.350

    This is not a problem of the DNS resolver, it is an error message the dns resolver receives from the configuration daemon. You probably imported an expired license into the system, maybe via backup restore? In case your license is not expired, please post back here so we can check this. [:)]

    The Licenses for Maint/Web/IM&P2P all expire in July 2009.  I can shoot you the backup if you'd like.

    I just sent the email from my work account with the temp passwords for all 3 of the main built in users.

    I did however forget to inform you, it's 1:28pm here and after 6:30pm I won't be back to the office / email until Monday morning due to Thanksgiving weekend.  I will try to keep an eye on if anything is posted here or sent to the work email, it just might take me a while.

    The backup file was damaged and I could not import it, but I still managed to extract your license from it and it works, so there's no need to re-send it.

    I have to admit you have an interesting license, and a very old one too.  I talked about it with the responsible developer and he agreed to take a look at it. I don't think this will be fixed this week though; sit back and enjoy Thanksgiving [:)]

    Odd on the backup being corrupted... I took that straight out of 7.350 possibly a bug in the backup/restore system?

    [[:)]] The License is older then it suggests, that site has been active on Astaro since version 2.x, one of our very first Astaro customers when we first started selling ASL to schools [[:)]].  I believe however that this box had a clean load / config at 7.201 so there shouldn't be any upgrade remnants on it.  but if you need the config from when the box when it was on 7.305 or 7.201 I have those handy as well.

    As I expected this is not a problem of the DNS resolver; actually, it is not a problem at all. Whenever a client connects to the configuration daemon, the license status is checked and warnings are given for expired subscriptions even if the client does not use that functionality at all. Since the DNS resolver is not related to email security, it is not affected by the expired license and that log message is just noise with no effect on the functionality of the system.
    We are going to reduce the log output for those cases, but this has a low priority.
