Copying a 20gb file from a linux box using samba in the dmz, to a windows vista machine on the internal network. Only me on the network - nothing else running.
If the IDS/IPS is enabled - cpu @ between 98 & 100% over a 15 minute average resulting in slow (~2mb / sec) data transfer
P2P on - cpu between 95 & 98% over a 15 minute period
I/M checking - cpu between 91 & 97% over a 15 minute period
Disable all 3 - cpu at 2%
The machine is a generic pc with a barton xp2500 o/c'd to 3200 with 768mb ram & 60gb ide disk. 3 100mbit network cards.
I think this is the standard problem but was hoping for this release to have resolved the issue.
