[7.190] NTP server no longer working ? [CLOSED]

Hi

NTP server was working fine before and just after update it is no longer working [:(]


[18:46:11] root@keops - ~> ntpdate 192.168.9.254
15 Apr 18:47:01 ntpdate[19017]: no server suitable for synchronization found

192.168.9.254 is my astaro gateway with ntp active, no config had been changed except upgrading to 7.190

I am using europe.pool.ntp.org for my NTP Pool into astaro Time settings

which is working fine from my linux box:


[18:49:28] root@keops - ~> ntpdate europe.pool.ntp.org
15 Apr 18:50:44 ntpdate[19044]: adjust time server 80.96.120.252 offset 0.061459 sec

on the asg console:


asg:/root # netstat -nlp|grep ntp
udp        0      0 192.168.200.1:123       0.0.0.0:*                           8154/ntpd           
udp        0      0 192.168.9.254:123       0.0.0.0:*                           8154/ntpd           
udp        0      0 192.168.1.254:123       0.0.0.0:*                           8154/ntpd           
udp        0      0 127.0.0.1:123           0.0.0.0:*                           8154/ntpd           
udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:123             0.0.0.0:*                           8154/ntpd

Hi BuBu,

wow you are fast updating. [:)]

i checked it on my installation and it seems to work there.

Can you please check if again if it just was a side-effect of the installation and has resolved itself now.
If it still does not work, please check the packetfilter|ips|im/p2p log on the ASG if this packet has been blocked?

ok working now...

seems need some times to the ntp server to come up...

[20:12:24] root@keops - ~> ntpdate 192.168.9.254
15 Apr 20:22:23 ntpdate[19247]: step time server 192.168.9.254 offset 3.282218 sec

ah just checked some logs and at about same time I got:

2008:04:15-18:45:20 (none) selfmonng[5838]: I check Failed increment ntpd_running counter 1 - 3

into selfmonitoring logs... so probably this explains why I got problems with ntp.. ?
