IM (MSN) xperience

Hi,
well I've been testing the IM-filtering. I got some issues/questions:
1) MSN-blocking is working
2) Buit when a Packet Filter Rule is made: local network->Any->Any, MSN-client is not "catched" by the MSN-blocking in the IM/P2P-section. So it will connect to the server. So the PF-rule overrules the IM/P2P-blocking and I don't know if this is desirable...
3) It's possible to log IM-meesages but I can't find the specific log-file...

    Hi All,

    I think I found the Issue Fobe is describing,  whe you have an old msn client (the one that comes with windows xp installed) it somehow it can connect to msn even when the IM filter is set to block completele and the packet filter rules are to block the msn traffic.

    Also I have a custom content filter setting to block all chat sites on the HTTP proxy.

    Do you have an idea why this happens?

    can it be that the IPS pattern that blocks msn is tuned for the new version of the msn protocol and not the old one?
