ASG 7.200 BETA upcoming!

This is a short pre-announcement of the upcoming 7.200 BETA version.

Within the next days we are going to release 7.200 BETA as an ISO image and Up2Date package (you need 7.104 to install it).

ASG V7.200 will include exciting new features like blocking Skype, improved IM/P2P detection including ip based exceptions and QoS shaping of these protocols.
Improved Intrusion Prevention engine delivering better performance while disabling the hardware accelleration.
Extended WebSecurity to allow blocking by mime-type/content-type.
New Linux Kernel with improved stability and extended hardware support

Furthermore you will experience convenience changes and performance improvements.

You are right, SMTP Blacklist ist still on the horizon and is part of the Mail Security Update.
This and many other mail improvements like (rejecting, improved quarentine manager, improved pop3 proxy, better performance, ...) are still under final development and are planned to go into beta a few weeks after the 7.200 GA, and most likly to be released in Q2. Currently we plan to name this release version 7.300.

Are there any plans to improve the handling of policy routing and multiple WAN load balancing?
Maybe in 7.2 or 7.3 or in a later release like 7.4?

Hello Gert,

Has there been any developments on the http proxy? We are still unable to download a full file without it being corrupted since moving to ASG7 almost a year ago.

Any chance of getting XEN kernel and tools support? I'm trying to build out a "cluster of contexts" much like cisco ASA units do. But finding roadblocks in using the XEN kernel and tools.

I'm sure it's still under wraps, but are there any plans to implement an SMTP proxy queue manager for the mail update?

where are you trying to download from and with what browser? Also what a/v is installed on the system and what proxy configuration do you have going?
