[7.080] FTP Server - no progress visible [NOTABUG]

Hi.

I have condigured a transparent HTTP Proxy, so it does not handle ftp. Additionally, I activated the FTP Proxy too.

It seems to work but I think it does not use any cache - is this intended in the described configuration?

The second "problem" is that no progress is visible while downloading and scanning (i hope the proxy have scanned). I see in the log:

Does the information ... CLEAN means that the file was scanned?

I think it would be better to show the progress of the process like the http proxy do.

    Hi Juergen, 

    what kind of FTP client did you use?

    Using the browser as an FTP client is a special case. 
    The FTP proxy can not differentiate which ftp client he is serving, therefore he always acts as as it would be a standard ftp client and uses the ftp control connection to communicate with the user. 

    If you use an FTP client that shows the control connection, you will actually see progress messages.

    Plese retry your tests with the FTP commandline client from windows or the Firefox plugin  FireFTP http://fireftp.mozdev.org/ or any other ftp client that shows a log.

    And yes this log message means that it has been downloaded and is clean.

    Hi Gert,

    thank you for your explanation, now i understand the reaction.

    I browsed with firefoy 2.0.0.9 (without any special add in) through the pages from astaro.de and reached the ftp-download. In this situation the browser is the "normal" client. But it's OK, if the "naked" browser is not able to handle progress infos.
