[7.080] WebAdmin: After aborting a request, unable to browse to another page

I just tried aborting the Network activity query, since it never completes on my system and causes very high IO.

HOWEVER, after I clicked abort, I am now unable to browse to other pages, without getting many duplicate messages over and over. 

You can see in my screenshots that is is asking me to Abort, yet right behind it is a window saying the request has been stopped.

These messages appear every 4 - 5 seconds over and over, until I close the browser and re-open it.

This happened in Firefox 2.0.0.9.

It also occurs the exact same way in MS IE 7.0.5730.11 .

EDITED TO ADD: Even after aborting several times, and closing the browser, the system is still stuck in very high IO Wait from the query. Right now my load average is over 12.75.

    update:

    Since my last reboot I haven't touched the Network accounting, so my system hasn't gone into high IO wait.

    I was just resetting some ipsec tunnels, and the webadmin appeared to hang.

    Then the abort message popped up, so I said yes to abort. Waited, then the message re-appeared at the same time as the aborted message. clicking abort, and then ok, the same pairs show up again within 10 seconds or so.
