[7.080] Edir user updates fail when user has no email address in eDir [CONFIRMED]

I am seeing intermittent authentication errors with Edirectory: Error updating user object

Log entries errors are as follows:
2007:11:14-12:00:14 (none) aua[13234]: id="3006" severity="info" sys="System" sub="auth" name="updateUserObject: error updating user object for user kyoun: error OBJECT_INVALID_PARAM"

User is prompted with a challenge prompt. Waiting seems to help (sync interval is set to 20 but we have to wait a lot longer than 20 sec.). 

Rebooting + network login does not necessarily insure authentication.

Also logging through challenge prompt with the same credentials has worked.
