[7.075] Joining AD Domain Fails / Suceeded?

you can try 

# net ads join --user=Administrator --server=IP_OF_YOUR_DC

on the command-line to check if you can successfully join the domain.

But you need to open a plethoria of packet-filter rules ... LDAP UDP/TCP, Broadcast for Netbios NS, even more Netbios, Kerberos for UDP/TCP, ...

Note, that you still need to redo the joining in WebAdmin, as the command-line test will not set the proper configuration for the http-proxy.

you could do:

# iptables -I OUTPUT -j ACCEPT
# net ads join ...
# /etc/init.d/mdw restart

If you can live with the machine having outgoing rights for a moment ...

Of course, it is abhorrently evil to do so XD

I've so far had no luck trying to join my 7.075, and now 7.080 to my AD domain.
'joining the domain failed' message after each attempt.
I've tried connecting to a .local domain and a .com domain. Same result each time. ASG is able to communicate with the AD server, as I'm accessing WebAdmin using AD user credentials.
After trying the 'net ads join...' command suggested by megaposer, I notice that a computer account for the ASG host has been created in AD. The screen output is:

Perhaps it's also worth mentioning that when I attempt to join the domain via WebAdmin, the smb.conf file is updated to reflect the domain to which I tried to join.
