It does work - however the global "version" you see conflates all the pattern versions for the AV scanners, IPS patterns, online help and manual. If you do not receive all of those (because you do not have the respective feature(s) activated), your local version may lag behind a bit. We know this is not ideal, but it is not a bug [:)]
