I just updated to version 6.915. I use HTTP Proxy in Standard Mode. When I enter a URL or click on a bookmark, the pages aren't loaded!!! The browser say's that the page is loaded (so stopped downloading the page) but I got a white page. After hitting several times on the refresh button of the browser the page(s) are loaded correctly. I know that there's something changed to the HTTP Proxy part but i don't think this is tested very well !!!! Does anyone else got also this problem ????
Hi all, I tested it right now on my private ASG110 without any problems (transp. mode) and QA was also not able to find something...
Please give us more details about your config, client system, logfiles....
(BTW: "performance of the entire firewall has just dropped considerably" is nonsens, we didn't change a major part of the system, neither introduced a new feature/process nor tried to optimize something.) Thx!
I tested on an AMD 2 GHz PC with 1 GB RAM. I configured HTTP Proxy as standard but Iread that it also happens in Transparant mode. I didn't did any changes to the config. When I don't use http proxy everything working fine. So there must be something in the HTTP Proxy.
i have the same problem. When using top on the console i see that squid take 93% op the cpu utilization.
I have this on ony one machine. Other machine in vmware runs fine.
I never experienced the white page problem with the HTTP proxy enabled (transparent mode), however while setting up various rules my interface hung and now load times are extremely long.
The only way I know of to get the speed quick interface back in a fresh install.
I have a more detailed account of this in another post in this forum.
How about putting it in an up2date package so us dummies can try it out.
I have a copy, but can't work out how to get it on the ASG. I have tried to the limit of my unix/linux knowledge and run out of ideas (knowledge level isn't great).
I have install the updated RPM and although I am not seeing the white pages so far, I some pages seem to be missing elements, such as http://www.meebo.com
Red-man, Thank you for the info, worked a treat. I didn't need to remote to the ASG, just did it all from the console.
From the limited testing I have done, proxy seems faster, but some of the sites are slow. There is a definite improvement over 908. I also note that there is a default connection for MS updates in 915.
No white pages, but still have a problem with IE7 and hotmail e-mail and Yahoo beta e-mail. Firefox work fine with hotmail e-mail and doesn't give any errors on Yahoo beta, but doesn't connect.
Looks good so far. The wife is about to start testing (LOL), so I will hear very shortly if there .are any new problems.
