Feature request: DHCP Hostname

i am not quite sure what you mean.

Are you refering to the Network INterface Type "Cablemodem (DHCP)", to configure the dhcp client name there, which than is sent as part of the DHCP query?

Yes thats exactly what we would need [:)]
since V4 we needed to place a simple nat router in front of astaro to get it working with the provider, this gives us lots of troubles with IPSec tunnels etc.... 

for some reason the provider uses the hostname thats included in the dhcp request to give out a "static" ip to the machine.

does the router not send up the hostname that you define for it?  although now that i think about it, is the hostname for the router assigned to the local private address?
