[6.836] SPAM under SMTP not working

In beta version 6.808 I enabled SPAM check under SMTP for mails delivered to my mailserver behind the firewall. After a couple of days I disabled it since the quarantaine release function didn't work (in my case ..).
After updrading to 6.836 I enabled SPAM under SMTP again to do a new check. This time the firewall dosn't check my mails for SPAM at all. Nothing is added to the mail headers regarind SPAM checking. So I am not able to check if quarantaine release function is working.

Dos anyone else have problems with SPAM not working in 6.836?

I have enabled/disabled SMTP and SPAM several times with restart of the firewall. Noting happens, the mails dos not get cheched for SPAM!

Hi binky72,

do you run the SMTP proxy in standard mode or transparent?
We are not are able to reproduce the missing spam X-signatures, like:

X-cff-run: 1
X-cff-srcip: 10.128.8.10
X-cff-SpamScore: -1.1(/)
X-cff-SpamReport: ----- -----
-1.4 ALL_TRUSTED Passed through trusted hosts only via SMTP
0.2 MISSING_HEADERS Missing To: header 0.1 TO_CC_NONE No To: or Cc: header

I am running it in Transparent mode.
The only X-signature I have is:

X-cff-run: 1
X-cff-srcip: 69.57.140.97
X-cff-id: 1454

I am also running anti virus under SMTP. Thought that also should add something to the X-signature.

My SMTP Proxy log is filled up with this error message:

2006:11:22-13:04:12 (none) cffd[5058]: id="1003" severity="error" sys="SecureMail" sub="smtp" name="DeliveryThread error" info="Error while releasing a message" messageid="1633" error="Could not pass message to BSMTP process"

Please check if the configured email domains SMTP->Global SMTP settings->Email domains match against the recipient of the messages you send to your mailserver. If not the message will not be scanned.

If you want to allow messages to anyone and the message should be scanned turn relaying on and activate "Scan relayed (outgoing) messages".

Thanks for the tips Koma, but everything in that area is OK.
I can receive emails, but they don't get scannet for SPAM or maybe AV.

I might just have to try to reinstall ASG from scratch and see if thats helps.

Upgraded to 6.908 with a complete reinstall. Reloaded my settings from 6.836.

I am still not getting any X-cff signatures in my mails.
My email domains are listed under SMTP - Global - Global SMTP settings - Email domains. I have no probelm sending and receiving mails on my domains. But, they don't seem to be scanned for SPAM.

Maybe my SMTP settings have gone corrupted?
Is there a way to wipe out all the SMTP settings without doing the hole firewall from scratch?

I am completly lost, especially since the SPAM worked in the first beta release.

Have you configured any Exceptions (SMTP - Exceptions - New Exception list) or any entry under Advanced - Transparent mode skiplist?

After an other round I found that I had done something stupid under Exceptions.

SPAM is now working again.
