I have the previous version [6.808] installed on a test machine but cannot reach the internet from it (probably a misconfiguration on my side, or in one of the proxies I have to use to get out over the internet) in order to download the patch.
I rather foolishly downloaded the ISO image from the website in the link that detailed the enhancements to the newer version without actually reading the text, burned the cd, installed it, restored my backup configuration to find that it was exactly as it was before... D'oh.
Installed the same software on my home machine this evening and went through the same steps.
The update was picked up however I then got : "Backend connection failed, please click Shift-Reload to try again."
Ctrl F5 simply displayed the same message.
After a reboot, where the ASG came back to life, the dashboard indicated the update was still waiting to be installed. I re-tried the installation and the same situation occurred.
I left the machine doing it's stuff and ignored the reload statement - started a "top" running on a console and watched it as it busied itself with the installation..
A few minutes later when the cpu was free'd after completing - all was well.
