My wife had sent a couple of e-mails with incorrectly formatted addresses in them.
The pop3 proxy could not handle the resultant error e-mail message and kept giving proxy time-out errors. All this time my e-mail was working fine.
In an attempt to overcome the problem I stopped and re-started the pop3 proxy, no effect, I re-started the ASG again no effect.
I ended up stopping the pop3 proxy and creating a packet filter rule for pop3 traffic. This allowed the return advice that an earlier e-mail had failed to be delivered to due to incorrectly formated address from reciepients e-mail server to download and clear the back log. I restarted the pop3 proxy and deleted the packet filter rule and all is working correctly again.
