6.808 - configured - backup - no restore

HI there, 

the current Beta version og ASG v7 does not include a Backup Converter for V6 backups, we are stil working on that piece.

Therefore it is currently NOT possible to install a V6 backup file into V7 Beta.

This has been mentioned in the release notes under Limitations and Hints

I know that I cannot import a v6-Backup.
I tried to import a v7 backup and failed.

What did fail? Did you receive an error message or did the import not change the configuration?
What did you exactly do?
Which version was the backup from?
In which version did you want to import the backup?

just what I stated in the post:
 
I installed version 6.808, made the backup from that 6.808 configuration.
Then sort of misconfigured something.
Then newly installed version 6.808 from CDROM.
Then tried to import Backup:
   - Upload the file (worked)
   - typed in the password (seemed to be okay)
   - clicked on import:
....no reaction after importing and waiting for a while, then trying to click on a different page in WebAdmin: 
Message from IE 6.0: FATAL: Unable to complete XMLHTTP request after 5 times.
After a new login to the WebAdmin: No changes had occured, no backup was restored.
I did that 3 or 4 times with increasing time I waited to let the backup be restored, even if I did not see whether that worked or not.

Try Firefox.. I know they've had some issues with IE 7... maybe IE 6 support isn't quite right either..

FireFox is the only brower I found that works correctly

I think this is browser-independend.

I tried to upload some 6.819-backups in 6.808 => didn't work - but there was no error message (IE7 and Firefox)! After an up2date to 6.819 i can see those uploads i've made earlier and a restore works.

Hi there guys, 

just for completness, a newer backup can never be restored on an older machine!
This is due to the fact that newer version can include newer config options, which are no longer recognized from the older version.
