Hi
Installed the update last night. Blimey what a hassle compared to v6.3!!
There is no realtime status window. I would had thought with this new AJAX you could build a status windows into the interface showing update progress. Well any window showing progress would had been nice. The first time I tried updating it did nothing, but due to the lack of a progress window I had no idea it crashed. 1 hour later I rebooted the firewall and tried the update again. This time it worked, the only way I knew is the HD light was constant. Please Astaro help us out on this We are not mind readers
Well where are the UI changes??? My IE 6 browser still refreshes every few seconds on the dashboard which is very distracting. IE 7 support is still poor, in as far as the borders do not fit the text, the text still goes far beyond the border all over the UI but especially in the logging section. Buttons do not work and the Java errors all over the place!!
In IE7 if you go to a blocked site you still do not get an astaro blocked site page, you just get a dead graphic cross and a blank grey screen. Look I know Firefox is great and leaves you warm inside, but the fact is IE is big, 80% and above big. Please can you fix these very minor but important issues, it makes the whole interface, which is far better to use than 6, a nightmare.
Logging
======
This works fine in Firefox but is useless in IE. You can not view archived logs as the responce to your selection fails to come up due to Java errors, this is the same with viewing logs from the Today section
I do want to say a big well done to the CPU hog issues or lack of them now.
All in all I am looking forward to recommending this version to my clients, just needs a whole lot of IE 6 and IE 7 compatability work doing
