As far as I can see, the pppoe assumes dynamic address allocation. There is a box to tick for g/w and that will give you the ISP's g/w. The gateway will eventually show up in the dashboard interface details. Also a similar box exists in the DNS settings, but doesn't show any thing.

But in Online Help, there is the description for IP Assignment, Adress and Netmask. See in the online help 3.1.1.2.4 DSL(PPPoE). But there are no such fields in V7. In V6 the fields are visible.

you have raised an interesting point about the use of static IP addressing while using PPPoE. As far as I have experimented you would have to use PPPoA to assign a static address and other static type information, at least in this beta version. Might change in the next beta release.

Ian, the problem is, that i need PPPoE for the connection with my provider in Germany. With the configuration like now, i get no connection to the internet. I need the possibility like in V6 to "assign by remote" the IP-adress and the netmask.
Hi Werner,
you don't need the option "assign by remote", because it's the default way! I tested it with T-Online and it works fine. You just have to set the PPPOE interface as the default GW, IP-address and gateway are automatically set.
On the other hand, I have to agree to Ian, a lot of people will miss the option, to set the ip and default-gw manually.
