Is it possible to run ASL 7 on vmware workstation 5.x?
I only see ESX versions on the ftp-server so I don't know if it's posible to run that version on workstation.
From that point of view, ASG Software is just an ordinary Linux distribution. Since VMWare workstation supports Linux as guest system, there is no general reason why you shouldn't be able to boot the normal ISO in a virtual VMWare system. Givt it a try.
I think those VMWare Images from Astaro are just pre-configured and maybe tweaked a little bit, but are they are not the only possible way to install ASG Software in a virtual environment...

ASG V7 works nicely on Vmware Workstation, Vmware Server and Vmware Virtual Infrastructure.
We also use it heavily during development and quality assurance.
