ASL downloaded am up2date package 5.841!!! Can I install it ? Because it's not available on the ftp-servers of ASL....

Yes, you can and should install Up2Date 5.841 - an official announcement will follow next hours.
The package is also avaliable on ftp://ftp2.astaro.de

I've applied the package and noted the version is displayed as the prior version in Webmin. Cosmetic? Or perhaps the patch didn't apply?

hmm you should see the new version 5.841. What's in /etc/version?
