Where have the config files gone ?

They are stored in the configuration daemon, which acts like some kind of database. You can't edit them directly any more.
Why don't you import a backup with your config files in your Version 5?

...sure the backup-thing worked... but yet there are lots of comments to add, some things might be renamed...
The GUI has become _very_ slow in the new version, sometimes I have to wait for seconds until I can see a response.

I realy loved the way of the configuration files. It also gave me the opportunity to do some urgent changes, just by the commandline.
Now the GUI is always required, and as said, the GUI is slow.

Does any know how the confd-mechnism works, maybe setup by command-line is still possible... ?

in V4 it was something like urgent-entry if i configure something wich makes the webadmin unaccessable i went into my firewall by console edit a config-file restart middleware and can use webadmin again but what should i do now if i cant get access to the config-files anymore ? Using a backup by ssh could be a try but how?? and what if i have no ssh access only console ?
