My provider dynamically assings a IP Adress on the external Interface of my firewall. With version 4 I never had a problem using dhcp on my Firewall. After upgrading to R5 it seem, that Webadmin is not picking up any changes made on the status of the NIC. The problem did not go away after upgrading to Version 5.001. In Web Admin I do not see a IP Address and the status of the interface is down. When connecting via SSL I can do a ifconfig and see that the interface is up and has been assing a IP address. After doing a ifconfig eth1 down, ifconfig, ifconfig eth1 up the changes are refleted in WebAdmin (but not always). Sometimes it takes very long for the status to be visible in WebAdmin. Until the status is "up" i am unable to connect to the Internet.
I've also noticed the same thing. After a clean install to v5.001 I had to reset my cable modem (Toshiba PCX2600) and restart Astaro a couple times before it would finally pick up an IP address via DHCP on the external interface. Also, between restarts, I would let it "do its thing" for about 15 minutes. Finally, on the third try, it picked up an IP.
