smtp pop3 question

in smtp you have the possibility for spam that you can quarantaine blackhole reject the mail if it meats the tresholds. is this not possible for pop3 or does it uses the tresholds of smtp.

there are thresholds for pop3 as well, but there is no way to blackhole/reject pop3 mails (since the proxy is transparent).
