[5.000] Remote desktop problem.

Are you running Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol  "raw" (routing port 3389), or are you running it "cooked",  inside a PPTP tunnel (routing ports 47 & 1723)? 

Running raw RDC protocol over the Internet and in through a firewall is not such a good idea. Microsoft's RDC protocol is not all that secure. I would suggest leaving port 3389 closed on the ASL box, and use a PPTP tunnel.

I'm using port 3389 raw RDP.  And yes it isnt that safe.  But it worked fine under ASL 4.XXX and not under 5.XXX

I might throw 4.021 back on and dbl check its a 5.XXX issue.  Just wondering if anyone had experienced the same thing.
 

i tested rdp both raw and pptp. and the pptp worked finer and faster for me.  

Hrm, it's not working for me even over a LAN 2 LAN ipsec.

Maybe my server is stuffed in some way... Will test from another machine from inside the firewall tonight.

But me raw RDP works proper. I defined:
- network service TCP, dest. port 3389
- DNAT rule in NAT/Masquerading on computer (Windows XP Pro)
- packet filter rule for DNAT

That is all.

It's same configuration of what I use for ASL 4.021


P.S. I have rule in packet filter for RDP inactive and before access to remote computer rule activate. After disconnection again rule deactivate.
