[4.770] and the last one before switching back

Hi,

After writing the previous post and try to do something else following message appears in my browser:

Lookup failed for host 'www.google.nl'
System state : Resource temporarily unavailable
Error code :11
DNS Error String : Name or service not known
DNS Error Code : -2
-----------------

And then, after hitting F5:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.google.nl/ 

The following error was encountered: 

This cache is in the process of shutting down and can not service your request at this time. Please retry your request again soon. 

Your cache administrator is webmaster.

The cache is shutting down???? Why? After a disable followed by an enable of the proxy  the problem was solved

    I have reported this issue for two betas now....what kind of hardare are you running thei on?  Want to see if it is similar to mine..[:)]

    Hi,

    I'm using a (Compaq) PIII 500Mhz with 256Mb memory, 3 10/100 NIC's (3Com), 10Gb IDE HDD (Maxtor).

    To be honest, i can't see what hardware has to do with it. It looks like the proxy (squid) is unable to resolve a ip from the DNS and stops responding... IMHO...

    The proxy is crashing all the time. I’m receiving the following error messages similar like this:

    Lookup failed for host 'apps.webservicehost.com'
    System state : Resource temporarily unavailable
    Error code :11
    DNS Error String : Name or service not known
    DNS Error Code : -2

    After this error messages I’m not able to browse the Internet at all. 

    If I switch HTTP proxy off and on, everything works again. I’m using DNS proxy as well. Intrusion Prevention and HTTP virus scanning are switched off already. Surf protection is still on.


    Celeron 766, 2 3COM NICs, 1 Intel NIC , 128 MB, 10 GB HDD
