[ 4.770] here we go again

- [VGA] Install seems to work fine but after rebooting the error "invalid node number press space or wait 30 seconds" appears. Something with the vga mode (lilo.conf i assume). When i press the spacebar it boots normal. This is a new bug because t was'nt a problem with the previous beta.

- [Backup restore from V4] During the installation i select the internal networkcard and give it a IP adres. Then, from the webinterface, i restore a V4 backup configuration file. After a long time a "internal server error 500" occured. After pressing (HARD) F5 in the browser a login screen appeared after a while. Although there was a error the restore seems to work. But then i found out that the restore, for some reason, has switch the NIC settings! Internal was eth1 (etho in the backup) and External was eth0 (eth1 in the backup). Switchting the cables solve the problem. But after rebooting everything switched back and the gateway to the dsl router was set on the internal interface. I can understand that this is a strange problem and hard to understand or even reconstruct but thats what happend. I'm 1000% sure of it since i have a colored cable to the dsl router....

- [notification after portscan] Simple... there is'nt any. No IPS notification and no portscan notification

- [Proxy content manager] I can't delete one (or a few)  message by selecting it and clicking on that trashcan icon 

- [up2date] up2date stops at:

- [licensense] Can someone explain to me what to do with the license? In this beta you can't enter a license altough the help screen say that you should enter in a textfield that does'nt exist. 

Well that's my first impression, it's almost 2:00AM so i called it a day  [:)]

    I have a similar problem and have experienced most of those lised above also.
    I took my first look at ASL 4.770 today and I must say, for a product that is just about to go “Gold”, it seems to have a few issues.
    I have been running v4 for a long time now and love it. Version 5 however is making my brain hurt.
    I did an install on a PIII with 512Mb and 3 NICS. I normally use the onboard NIC as my ETH0 (that’s the way it is in my ASL v4) so I easily know which one it is. :-)
    During the install I selected my onboard NIC as the WebAdmin interface. This all works fine and I can login to ASL5 without issues. 
    The problem lies in Network/Interfaces. The “Current Interface Status” reads as Internal (Standard ethernet interface) on eth0. That’s fine (and what I would expect) but in the Hardware List the Sys ID for my onboard NIC is eth2.
    It gets better than that however. When I select edit on the “Internal” interface it shows the NIC defined in the Hardware List as eth0 (again, you would expect this) but the NIC is NOT my onboard NIC, the one that I know I am connected with.
    It’s all a bit confusing. Can anyone shed a bit of light on this issue?

    I forgot to mention that i also have three NIC's. External, Internal and DMZ. The DMZ card was not a problem.

    And i'm also suprissed that this version goes 'gold'. I see many issues that simply don't work. I few things a notice this morning:

    - SMTP graph stays empty altough the table below it shows the right numbers
    - The firewall send no notifications or reports by email. The only thing it does send is a automatic backup.
    - Up2date does not work, get stuck at step 4
    - Accounting stays empty (i select every nic and should have a report by now)
    - IPS does'nt do anything (Intrusion Protection statistics stays empty), no notifications, etc. etc.
    - Portscan detection does'nt drop  the scanner and it does'nt send a notification. In fact, i wonder if it does anything at all.
    - Proxy Content Manager has issues (see above)
    - the login screen appears when hitting F5 in the webadmin interface interface ('old' issue)
    - at some screens the pulldown show up at top of the menu that rolls over it.
    - It much slower then version 4 although it is a bit faster then the previous beta.

    HW: PIII 500Mhz with 256Mb memory, 3 10/100 NIC's, 10Gb IDE HDD
