After rebooting 4.720, I am unable to access the internet. Even after waiting about 30 minutes, the external interface is still down. I am connecting by ethernet (100BaseT connection) to a cable modem, in which the External Astaro interface receives all its information by DHCP from my ISP. I never had a problem with the External interface coming up with 4.021 using the same hardware.
However, by changing the MTU size from 1500 (the default), to 1492 on both the External & Internal interfaces, the External interface will mysteriously come to life and again allow internet access. Maybe its an issue with my cable modem since it seems hit & miss sometimes when rebooting (but it worked fine every time with the exact hardware in 4.021).
Was anything majorly changed in v5 regarding MTU/DHCP settings on the external interface?
Before changing the MTU settings, I probably rebooted 6 or 7 times, and it finally came back up on the last reboot.
Finally, after changing the MTU settings and rebooting, the External interface MTU settings revert back to 1500. Whats even stranger, is WebAdmin lists the External Interface as 1492, yet the logs show 1500. By changing the WebAdmin MTU setting BACK to 1500, the External interface will again mysteriously come back online.
It seems like what ever restart command that is issued to the External Interface when the MTU is changed or updated is what's causing the interface to come back online.
