i do not really understand what you would say with this. the example listed there 172.200.0.0/16 is an class B network and you could write it also as 172.200.0.0/255.255.0.0 if you have both writings you are only more flexible and its easyer if you have done it like this for years and do it on other devices this way.

because the CIDR notation is more efficient..only makes sense that ASL would use it considering most network operators use CIDR instead of class a-c....
