I did a backup from my previous Astaro installation, 3.39? I believe...it was the latest...had all the current updates applied. DL the new Astaro 4.0 (woo-hoo!) and rebuilt the firewall. Everything went fine, and restored the backup to the Astaro. It notified me that I was restoring from a previous major release and should confirm that any new features be reviewed to assure that nothing is overlooked. Everything imported fine with the exception of one thing..(that I noticed thus far). None of my CUSTOM service definitions (including custom service groups) were imported. All the static ones (and some new ones) were there, just none of the ones I had created. What tipped me off was viewing the livelog and noticing some traffic that I thought I had filtered. I reviewed the rules and my custom services were there. From there I went to the definitions and they did not exist anymore. This feature may be by design, I'm too tired to try and figure out why, but I was just letting everyone know, so they could write down or make note of any custom ones they created before they updated. [:)]
Also, I noticed that my cutom networks and custom network groups imported fine.
This is the first time I have ever done a restore from backup so this may be a normal occurence. I apologize if this is a redundant post, or if this is a function I should be aware of. (I read the manual many times I SWEAR) so no RTFM's please!
