HTTP Proxy will not start

Read the release notes for the Up2Date. You need to maually configure those services after the Up2Date is applied.  

So I have done, but it doesn´t start [:(]

I´ll reinstall with new 4.000 some day...

Hello again!

I have installed V 4.000 and applied a backupfile from ASL 3.216.
HTTP Proxy refuse to start.  I get this ERROR:
"[INF 106] HTTP proxy not running - restarted" and it tries to restart forever......
It looks OK in webadmin but I can´t browse the web.

I think "pablito" had the same problem after upgradeing to 3.215 and had to killall squid manually via SSH.
Can you describe how to do this in detail. I´m really a newbe.

Also the automatic/manuall mail forwarding of the backupfile doesn´t work.
ERROR ~ 127.0.0.1 EHELO relaying denyed
It doesn´t even passes to SMTP Queue.

Any suggestions?   

I have installed ASL 4.0 and i use my ASL 3.2.16 backup and have no problem with http proxy on my machine 

login to the ASL machine. If you're at the console, login as root. If not, log in as loginuser.
After logging in as loginuser...
#>su -
You'll be prompted for the root password.
#>ps -ax | more
This will give you a listing of the processes running. Use the space bar to page down and the "Q" key to quit.
Find the Pricess ID of squid. example: 4567
#>kill -9 4567
That should just about do  it.
use webadmin to cycle to proxy off then on.

I tried to locate the squid service ID (PID) but the first time it was 2902 and when I tried again it was 4310 or something like that and the third time it was something else  [:S]st!?


What do I do wrong?  

you can kill the squid by typing 
killall -9 squidf
killall -9 squid
but I do not think that this will solve your problem since the squid is restarted all the time (that is why the PID is changing)
