I was just testing the "Sender Address Verification" and the "Callout" functions.
As I understood the online docs, using Sender Address Verification would check to see that the domain had a valid MX Record and when the Callout function activated is an SMTP RCPT command would be issued to verify that user address exists.
I did a Telnet to my ASL 3.380 box on 25 and issued the following commands:
220 mydomain.dyndns.org ESMTP ready.
mail from: nobody@a-domain-that-doesnt-exist.net
250 OK
rcpt to: admin@mydomain.dyndns.org
250 Accepted
data
354 Enter message, ending with "." on a line by itself
lol this should be rejected
.
250 OK id=18aZOi-0008QB-00
quit
221 mydomain.dyndns.org closing connection
As you can see the message did get queued for delivery when it should have been bounced or?
