Shutdown / restart problem?

can you please add some more information?

does anything happen on console when clicking shutdown/restart in webadmin (e.g. info about TERM / KILL signal?)

please check if any of these files exist:
/etc/wfe/conf/reboot
/etc/wfe/conf/shutdown

and please check if middleware is still running:
ps axf | grep mdw (there should be a mdw_deamon.pl process)

On the console appears no KILL or TERM signal, both files (restart and shutdown) do not exist and the middleware is still running.

please send me or Marcel a private message with the last interesting lines from /var/log/mdwlog.
 
I use vmware sometime too but use 'reboot' or 'halt' only on the console - did you test this?

halt and reboot via console do both work.

What are you exactly looking for in /var/log/mdwlog, because for me there seems to be nothing interesting?!
